Year 4 Spotlight

Earn & Learn

In our latest Unit of Inquiry ‘How We Organise Ourselves’ as you all are probably aware the students are conducting an ongoing structured activity called Earn & Learn. Within this the students have developed classroom communities; they have sworn in a government to make sure things are running smoothly and have created business to hopefully thrive in their economy.

They are getting a small taste of what it is like to earn money, pay taxes and spend money on things like daily food, utilities such as gas, water and electricity. These activities involve a wide range of learning which they have developed such as organisational skills, computer skills, negotiating and mathematics.

It has been wonderful to see the student’s enthusiasm and tackle this activity with a want to succeed.
