Principal's Report

Rohan Cooper

My Principal’s Report today will feature a variety of updates as we move through this very busy period of the year, both within our school and outside of it for all of us. I have been pleased with the consistent practice that I am seeing across all classrooms, with our students working hard through a period where our teachers are finalising assessments to ensure their teacher judgment data is ready for the upcoming student reporting period. There is plenty of fun going on outside of the classroom too, with our Year 3 students recently returning from camp, our Year 2 students having their ‘extended day’ program this week and plenty of excitement for our Year 6 students as their primary school journey concludes.

2025 Class Placement and Grade Structure

Our staff are currently working on the 2025 student placement process, and I thank them for their hard work and dedication in ensuring this process is completed with absolute thoroughness and in consideration of the needs of all students.

We continue to receive enrolment updates, both with new enrolments entering the school, as well as some students exiting. This sees our student numbers remain volatile. We will finalise our 2025 grade structure closer to the school-wide transition day on Tuesday 10th December.

If you know of families looking to enrol in the school, or if your child/ren are exiting the school, please notify our office (email link here) of this as promptly as you can.

2025 Parent Payment Schedule and 2025 Booklists

Our 2025 parent payment schedule and booklists have been shared with all families via Compass in the past fortnight. Thank you to those families who have actioned these items already. Please note that booklists need to be ordered by Monday 9th December to ensure delivery to school for the beginning of the 2025 school year.

As always, if any family requires support with either of these items, please contact our school office. We will arrange a meeting with you to ensure we can provide appropriate supports so your child/ren have everything they need to have another successful year at our school.

Major Fundraiser, End of Year Picnic and ‘Stay and Play’ Fundraiser

Our students have been excited to order their prizes from the major fundraiser providers this week. We are working with the fundraising group to reconcile the final fundraising totals and, in addition to the funds already raised across other events, we will excitedly share final tallies for the year in coming weeks. We have already engaged multiple providers to begin quoting for our new playground and look forward to that work beginning in the first half of 2025.

It was great to see families ‘stay and play’ last Friday and it looks like we have another beautiful day today to do the same. Please feel free to bring a picnic and enjoy our great facilities with your family and friends. Let’s hope that we get a day as good as today for our end of year picnic, commencing at 5:00pm on Thursday 5th December.

School Facilities

Our facilities sub-committee of school council met last week, discussing major projects around the school, both currently and for the future. Our shade sail structures will be completed in the next week, whilst we are planning holiday works currently, including further painting, re-carpeting and other safety and maintenance upgrades. We unfortunately have lost a large tree near the oval on Bundeera Road; you may have noticed recently some discolouring and as such the arborists we engaged recommended that, for safety reasons, this be removed.

We are looking for major projects that we can dedicate fundraising too in 2025; please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email or when you see me on the gates to share some of your ideas. We are also working with the Victorian Schools Building Authority (VSBA) to address an issue with an unpleasant odour currently in our toilets. We are looking for them to resolve this as soon as possible, knowing considerable works were undertaken by the group at the school in 2018.

Thanks for your ongoing support and keep doing your best.
