Awards

Please contact our president on president.mjbc@gmail.com if your team is doing awards and he will get them organised for you.

Bags / Balls / Cones etc

Please return all property back to Student Services. If you plan to keep the bags for next season, please let our property manager know so you do not get a charge, by emailing them at property.mjbc@gmail.com. All unreturned property will be invoiced on

5 December.

Uniforms

Please reach out to all players and check that they do not have a loan uniform that will incur a charge if it is not returned to Student Services. Please note that going forward, there will be no more manual orders as all uniform orders will now go through Player HQ. Registration Info

Congratulations to all teams playing in the grand finals on Monday and Wednesday this week. I feel this has been a challenging season for many of you team managers and you are all to be commended on the great job of getting a team together every week with very few forfeits.

We held trials to begin the process of providing a competitive environment for those boys who wish to play competitive basketball. These were a great success and we have players to fill a Div 1 team for U14, U16 & U18. We also have enough players to fill a Div 2 in U16 & U18 (U14 is also a possibility) so there should be some exciting times ahead and some good competition for the boys. Our intention is to let the successful boys know by the start of next week.

Registrations for next year's 2025 Season 1 will open on 1December.

KDBA changes for next year:

1. All teams must register the coach, and if they don't have a coach the team manager must register as a coach; we are asking all team mangers to register as coach. We will assign you as assistant if you don't have a coach. This is so KDBA has a contact at the game in the event there are any issues.

2. Season 2 will see the introduction of transfers effectively meaning you can only play for the one club.

As a team manager you last duty for me is to provide me with the following details:

Will you be staying on as a team manager?
Will your coach be staying on?
What players wish to remain with the team?

This assists me with registrations and making sure that we have the right fit for teams, players, managers and coaches and a productive healthy start to next season.

I would like to take the opportunity to personally thank each of you for taking on the role of team manager. Team managers undoubtedly make my life a whole lot easier, providing a point of contact and insight into the strengths of your players and team. Without you there is no team and you are a valued and important part of their success in playing basketball, so thank you. As always if you have any further questions or concerns please reach out.

Season 1 2025

Please keep watching our Facebook page for the opening of registrations for Season 1 2025. As like last year, we will be limited to teams so please ensure you get your registrations in early.

Training Bag Returns

Just a reminder note and new equipment process.

Please return all equipment and bags after the last game on Wednesday, November 20th. Amanda de Serville (wearing an MJBC shirt) will be at the KDBA café from 4:30 PM to 9:00pm to receive bags and check equipment….and hopefully not eating too many hot chips!

If you cannot deliver them on that night, please ensure all bags are returned to the school before the last day of term, which is December 4.

If you wish to retain your equipment for the following year, please let me know and inform me if any equipment is missing. If the bag is not returned, an invoice will be sent to the team manager on December 5.

Reminder: The AGM meeting is on the 28/11/2024 @ 6:00 pm (In the old D and T building).

Would you like to represent Mazenod Junior Basketball on an Interstate Level and become a division 1, 2025 Season Player?

If so, come and try out on Tuesday, 19 November at 3.30 pm in the College Gym. The tryouts should finish around 5.30 pm.

To be able to try out and be selected you must be:

A current MJBC Registered player
Intending to be a registered MJBC Player for 2025

We are looking for a team from each group level U14’s, U16’s U18’s and U20’s.

Mouthguards

Mouthguards are optional, but we highly recommend that they are used during the games and also during training.

Please note that if you have any issues, please communicate the issue with MJBC and please do not go directly to KDBA (Kalamunda District Basketball Association). You should only communicate with Tyson Lumbaca from KDBA tyson.lumbaca@sunsbasketball.com.au if you have to forfeit a game (cc’ registrar1.mjbc@gmail.com).
