2024 Heads of House Highlights

In 2024, our House spirit across all 6 Houses is stronger than ever, with a renewed focus on building a supportive and inclusive culture. We’ve seen a remarkable increase in participation, with more students engaging in events, activities, and challenges.
This year, lifting each other up has been at the heart of our House ethos, fostering collaboration and mutual respect. We’re especially proud of our students who have demonstrated a deep commitment to service, giving their time and energy to help those in need through various charitable initiatives. Together, we are creating a House environment that celebrates unity, compassion, and a heart for others.
Head of House Holiday Tips:
Embrace Rest, Engage in Reading, and Be Present: A Guide for the Holiday Season
As the holiday season approaches, it’s important to take a moment to reflect on how we can make the most of this time—both for relaxation and personal growth. The coming weeks offer us a much-needed opportunity to recharge, so let’s focus on a few ways to ensure we’re making the most of this break.
The Power of Rest & Sleep
In our busy academic lives, rest often takes a backseat. However, adequate, regulated sleep is crucial for mental clarity, emotional well-being, and overall health. Studies show that getting 7-9 hours of sleep each night can improve focus, mood, and energy levels. As the school year winds down, try to create a consistent sleep routine, avoiding late-night scrolling or stressing about upcoming tasks. Let your body rest fully so you can return to your studies and activities refreshed and recharged.
Reading to Keep the Brain Active
The holidays offer a perfect opportunity to dive into books outside of schoolwork. Reading is not just a relaxing pastime; it’s an excellent way to keep your mind sharp. Whether you’re exploring fiction, biographies, or inspirational works, reading fuels creativity, enhances vocabulary, and improves concentration. By choosing books that challenge or inspire you, you’re investing in your brain’s health and growth—both intellectually and spiritually.
Not the Time for 24/7 Scrolling
While it’s tempting to spend hours scrolling through social media or watching videos, it's important to remember that this holiday season is a chance to unplug. Excessive screen time can be mentally draining and lead to unhealthy comparisons. Instead, try to engage in activities that nurture your body and soul—whether it’s spending time with family, exercising, or simply enjoying a quiet moment of reflection.
Be Present
For those heading off on holidays or travels, take the time to truly be present in each moment. Whether you’re visiting a new place or enjoying time with loved ones, these moments are precious. Put away distractions and savour the experiences that come with being in the moment. This holiday season, let’s commit to being fully engaged in each experience, making memories that last long after the break is over.
Wishing everyone a restful, enriching, and mindful holiday season!
