Assistant Principals' Report

YEAR 9 EXAMINATION PERIOD

Year 9 Exams commence next week. Exams will run on Wednesday and Friday in the Senior Buildings of the college. Please refer to the exam communications shared via Compass for further details. 

2025 YEAR 10 EARLY START PROGRAM

Current Year 9 students (2025 Year 10 students) will participate in a two-day Early Start Program to prepare for their 2025 curriculum programs. Please refer to the communications shared via Compass for further details.

ATOSS STUDENT VOICE SESSIONS

In this term, the AP of Positive Climate met with Secondary Years students in different year levels to discuss some results of the AtoSS survey earlier this year and led a discussion around key results from the survey: connectedness to school, managing bullying and effective classroom behaviour. It was interesting to hear feedback from a variety of students on what they saw in the data, but also what they wondered. 

It provided us an opportunity to talk about the strengths and positive aspects of secondary school at HGC, but also to share opportunities and areas for improvement as well as some of the barriers. The kids were awesome at listening to one another and share their thoughts. We look forward to continuing to regularly meet with a variety of student groups as the voice of our young people can be very powerful to making a difference in their journey at Hazel Glen College.
