Inquiry Overview

This term students engaged in an Economics and Business unit, exploring how individuals, families, communities, and businesses interact within the economy. They examined the various reasons people work and analysed the evolving nature of work. Students learned to differentiate between needs and wants, as well as the allocation of resources. They explored the purpose of business and identified the different strategies businesses use to provide goods and services. Additionally, the class focused on creating budgets and understanding the roles of GST and income taxes.

Students have enjoyed doing different activities linking to economics and business such as exploring the cost of GST though a GST calculator, looking at receipts and going 'shopping' to make their own receipt and last week looking at bank statements before creating their own bank and making their own made up bank statement.

Halloween Disco

On Thursday 31st October, USPS held a Halloween Disco in our school gym. It was amazing to see so many students dress up for the day!

Crazy Hair and Sock Day

On Tuesday 19th November, USPS held two of our favourite events, crazy hair and crazy sock day. It was great to see the different hair style and the crazy and unique socks.
