Inquiry 

Celebrations and Commemorations 

This term in Inquiry, we have been exploring the theme of celebrations and commemorations across Australia. We’ve been learning about various cultural, historical, and national events that are significant to different communities. This has included studying holidays like Australia Day and ANZAC Day, as well as other unique celebrations such as NAIDOC Week. Through these lessons, students have gained an understanding of how and why people celebrate and commemorate special occasions, and how these events shape the identity of a community. We’ve also discussed the importance of respect, inclusivity, and understanding when participating in or learning about different traditions. The students have been involved in hands-on activities, discussions, and research projects to deepen their knowledge and appreciation of Australia’s diverse ways of celebrating and remembering.

Halloween Disco

On Thursday, 31st October, Upwey South Primary School celebrated our Halloween Dress-Up and Disco! The students loved dancing to songs mixed by our very own DJ Kitch!

Crazy Hair and Sock Day

On Tuesday the 19th of November we had crazy hair and sock day at school. It was so great to see everyone with their craziest hair and socks!
