Parent/ Caregiver Opinion Survey

Thank you to all parents/carers who participated our 2024 Parent/Carer opinion survey. There were 18 surveys completed. The results of these were shared at our last school council meeting and with staff. The survey results help us to see areas in which we are doing well as a school and areas for improvement. Each year we compare with the results from the previous year.

At Croydon SDS strength areas identified by parents/carers were:

  • School communication
  • Physical environment of the school
  • School improvement
  • Catering for special needs
  • High expectations for student success
  • Student motivation and support
  • Promoting positive behaviour
  • Respect for diversity
  • Student wellbeing and support

Some areas for continued improvement were:

  • Parent/carer support in learning
  • Further developing partnerships with all members of our community to support student learning and wellbeing
  • Continuing to build student skills and confidence to have positive interactions with others and keep themselves safe

Staff have looked at this data together with the information from the Student Attitudes to School survey and Staff Opinion Survey and used this to plan for our schoolwide goals as outlined in our Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) for 2025.

In the Staff Opinion Survey, staff identified significant positive increases in the areas of Instructional Leadership and Teaching and Learning. Staff believe that these are the positive results of the implementation of our Comprehensive Literacy for All program.

In the area of Student Wellbeing we will continue to build on the implementation of the Zones of Regulation, SoSafe!, Respectful Relationships and Schoolwide Positive Behaviour Supports as well as providing opportunities for student voice and agency.

We are excited to continue to grow and improve in 2025 to provide high quality learning for our students at Croydon SDS!
