Principals' Message

Mr Matthew Moroney, Mrs Vesdrevanis and Mrs Rassias

Principal for the Day

It has been an absolute pleasure having Matthew Moroney in the office as Principal for the Day! Matthew and I had some great conversations about the school and the role. Matthew was very helpful and gained insight into the work of a primary school principal. He enjoyed a leadership working lunch with Mrs Rassias and myself and was able to experience the hustle and bustle of the office on a busy Friday.

Matthew's family bid for this privilege at our Trivia Night and won! So, a big thank you to the Moroney family for their support of our school

Please enjoy reading Principal Moroney's report below.

Mr Moroney's Report

Free dress day

Guess what? On Friday the 5th of December there will be a free dress day, you can wear anything as long as it is appropriate and keeping within the school rules of course. Your classroom teacher will remind you of the rules. We hope to see you all expressing your true personality and wearing your favourite clothes and have a rocking time with all your friends in the hot sunny weather!!!

Hot Weather

As most of you know we are starting to enter summer which means the sun is out and perfect to play in, although, this does come with some downsides like UV rays which come from the sun and can damage our sensitive human skin, so we suggest bringing some SPF30+ sunscreen to school, preferably roll on or cream not any spray. Please stay safe and keep healthy.

Pinecone Droppage

Currently at this time of month the pinecones are dropping from the pine trees creating a dangerous and hazardous zone. We recommend not going near the huts, adventure playground or rainbow side if you notice pinecones dropping from the trees. Mrs Rassias will make an announcement and close off the area if it is dangerous.

Save the date....Christmas Concert

On Thursday 12th December we will be hosting a whole school Christmas Concert. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the 2024 school year.

Mrs Keep is eagerly preparing each grade to perform a song or two for the night and the Parents & Friends Association have organised a raffle to be drawn on the night.

We plan for the evening to start at 5pm and conclude at 7pm. Please save this date (and time) in your diaries.

Whole School Transition

To aid students in their transition into a new year level we will be conducting some Whole School Transition sessions. During this time students will spend some time in a classroom which is equivalent to what year level they will be in next year, 2025. It is a way to get to familiarise themselves with a new room and possibly a new teacher. The dates are

  • Tuesday 26th November 2:45pm - 3:15pm
  • Tuesday 3rd December 2:45 - 3:15pm

On Tuesday 10th December it will be a Meet the Teacher session.  This is where students will meet and get to know who their class teacher for 2025 will be.

Warm regards
