What a year it's been for sport at Donvale!
Two District shield's won (which hasn't been achieved in 16 years), several students making it to regional level, many sporting incursions from governing bodies, many internal house competitions and activities, and so much more.
I'd like to take this opportunity to acknowledge our amazing 'House Captains', who have portrayed our school values brilliantly, while leading their houses and assisting with all things sport related this year. They also presented achievement awards, medallions and even their own house captain award at assemblies, with such eagerness and pride.
We wish them all the best in their future leadership endeavours.
Acacia - Burhan and Luke
Banksia - Lachlan and Lucinda
Grevillea - Fynn and Jonathon
Waratah - Ebony and Clem
We look now to our incoming year 6's, as they put up their hands to be the next Donvale House Captains for 2025.
Today we celebrated our last whole school sporting event for the year in our Houses. It was a great chance for our junior and senior students to work together in teams, in a friendly house competition. Students participated in tunnel ball, over and under, leader ball and captain ball.
Congratulations to WARATAH on winning the House Cup.
What a fabulous week our Foundation to Year 4 students had for their annual swimming program.
It was great to see the smiles on their faces, as they focussed on improving their aquatic swimming and safety skills.
Our year 5/6's will be riding and skating around within their PE classes for the next few weeks, as we study how to be physically active and safe on wheels.
We look forward to creating courses and seeing students display new skills and tricks to their peers.
We love seeing our students succeed in sport outside of school.
A huge congratulations to our very own Lachlan, on achieving a gold medal for Taekwondo at the National Championships earlier this month in the Kyorugi, Ages 12-13 (Cadets), Male, Red Belt competition.
Last year he won a bronze medal and with continued effort he now proudly wears the gold. Well done Lachie! We are very proud of your hard work, dedication and discipline in reaching this level of achievement.
