Middle Sub School News

Sarah Hill

Dear Staff,

I hope this message finds you well as we continue through Term 4. Thank you for your ongoing dedication to supporting our students and one another during these busy weeks.

Important Updates & Reminders

Graduation (Week 10)

Our Year 6 Graduation Ceremony is coming up in Week 10. This will be a significant milestone for our graduating students and their families. Please ensure all preparations are finalised, and don’t forget to RSVP if you haven’t already. Details regarding staff roles on the day will be shared on Monday 9th December. Please ensure you attend the meeting at 2pm.

MSS Awards (Week 10)

The Middle Sub School (MSS) Awards will take place on Tuesday 10th December. Please finalise nominations for students to celebrate the outstanding growth, effort, and achievement in both academic and social areas.

Transition to 2025 Classrooms (Week 11)

Transition activities are still a few weeks away, but now is a great time to start preparing your students for this important milestone. The 2025 class lists will be shared with parents this week. Please ensure that transition plans are in place.

Classroom Team Meetings

This week’s Classroom Team Meetings continue to focus on Student Profiles. Profiles must be uploaded to Xuno by the end of this week. An instructional video is available—please let me know if you need the link resent or further clarification.

PLCs (Week 10)

PLCs will commence again in Week 10. These sessions will provide a valuable opportunity to reflect on Term 4 data and begin planning for the 2025 academic year. We’ll focus on building upon the existing focus in Term 4, aligning strategies for continued improvement moving into the next year.

Reflection on 2024 and Looking Ahead

As you have now heard about your classes and teams for 2025, I encourage you to take time to reflect on all that you and your students have achieved this year. Celebrate the progress and successes in your classrooms, and think about the opportunities ahead with your new students and teams. What strengths and insights from this year will you carry forward? What exciting possibilities can you see in building positive relationships and creating a thriving learning environment with your new class?

Observations

If you’re keen to conduct an observation of students in your 2025 class, please reach out to find a suitable time to do so. This is a wonderful opportunity to see how current staff support students, what strategies are used and how your future student engages in learning in 2024.

PDP Submissions

PDPs should now have been submitted. If you have yet to complete this, please ensure they are finalised immediately. Leadership will be reviewing these over the coming weeks, so thank you for your hard work in documenting your goals and achievements for the year.

December Celebrations

As we head into December, it’s a perfect time to bring some festive cheer to our classrooms and shared spaces. If you haven’t already, consider putting up some decorations with your students as a fun, collaborative activity. Let’s make the school feel warm and inviting as we approach the holiday season.

Curriculum Day (13th December)

A reminder that Thursday, December 13th will be a Curriculum Day. Please mark this on your calendars as we come together for professional learning and to reflect on our practices as we prepare for 2025.

Thank you for your incredible efforts and contributions so far. Your hard work in managing SSGs, reflecting on student progress, and supporting our school activities in Week 9 is greatly appreciated. Let’s keep up the momentum as we head toward the end of term!

Warm regards,

Sarah Hill
