In the Junior School, the students have been practising Mandarin greetings, self-introduction, good manners, and simple classroom routines.
Students used Mandarin greetings and introduction to make friends. They practised good manners and simple classroom expressions and also, sang and danced to Chinese nursery rhymes including ‘Ten Little Friends’, ‘Two Tigers’ and ‘Listen to Me, Thank You’ in Mandarin
In the Middle School, the students learnt the application of Mandarin numbers and essential classroom expressions. Students extended their Mandarin number skills to talk about age, time and dates. They used easy Chinese words and short sentences to practise classroom expressions and sang the Mandarin song ‘Listen to me, Thank You’ with gestures.
In the Senior School, the students learnt about Mandarin classroom expressions including classroom objects, instructions and routines. Year Five and Six students labelled classroom objects and their own stationery in both Pinyin and Chinese characters. They practised call-and-response of the classroom routines in Mandarin. They learnt and sang the Mandarin song ‘Listen to me, Thank You’ with gestures.
