"Be Positive"

Dear Families,

The weather has definitely moved to the Winter season as we all try to keep warm. I hope you enjoyed the recent long weekend and managed to have some down time with your family. In our house it was a very quiet weekend with our two boys (Year 10 and Year 11) madly studying for mid year exams. Mum's taxi service was not required for a change!!!

Thank-you to Ms L'Eveille and our FIRE Carrier leaders for organising a lovely Reconciliation Liturgy last week and for all the great work they have done recently to raise awareness and funds for Indigenous Education through the Opening the Doors Foundation.

We had a wonderful Preps in Pyjamas Prayer night on Wednesday and our Confirmation Information night last week. Thank-you to all those families who came along to be part of their child's faith formation journey with us.

CAR PARKING:

Can I please remind all families that the disabled car parks on our property are allocated for those who have an official disabled parking pass displayed in their car, that is for someone travelling in the car at the time they are using the disabled car parking s. We do have a couple of children with mobility issues who need to use those car parks however they are often unable to access them as they are being used by those without a disability parking pass. Please do not be offended if you are asked to move your car if you are parking in one of these spaces without the appropriate labels displayed. Please be considerate of those that genuinely require the spaces and consider the model we are providing for our children - following community requirements and rules to ensure equitable access for all is an important message to impart to our children.

CHILD SAFETY:

Dear parents,

Can I please remind all families that children should not be at school prior to 8.30 a.m. regardless of whether they are being dropped off by car or making their own way to school on their bike or on foot. There is no supervision at school until 8.30 a.m.  and children should never be left unattended, especially on these very cold mornings. If children are making their own way to school (as some of our children who ride their bikes do),  they need to time their ride so that they arrive at school after 8.30 a.m. Thanks for your co-operation for taking appropriate measures to ensure all children are safe. If you need to drop your child at school prior to 8.30 a.m. we have a before school care program run by Team Kids that is available for you to utilise. Please see the Team Kids page in this newsletter for details on how to book in to the program.

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT SURVEYS:

Please see below a letter about the annual school improvement surveys we ask parents, teachers and students to participate in to inform our next steps with our work on our School Improvement Plan. These surveys are an integral part of our school improvement process and are used system wide. We ask that you please take the time to complete the survey when it comes to you in September.
