Message from the Principal

St Peter’s School - an empowered faith community to enrich the world.

Welcome to Week 8 of Term 2

Another busy two weeks of learning has flown by!

Learning has been enhanced by excursions: Years 1 and 2 to the Melbourne Museum and Years 5 /6 to the Immigration Museum.  Our

Year 6 leadership groups have also been busy leading and supporting initiatives across the school:

Social Justice team are working with Mrs Devisser around Mini Vinnies, which helps us put faith into action by helping others. Students in 3-6 are invited to join our Social Justice leaders to help plan and organise events to make a difference.

Sustainability team were inspired by a visit from Monash council and conducted a rubbish audit. This audit showed that the St Peter's community needed to make changes with how we manage our waste. More bins have been purchased to aid us in sorting our waste and so play our part in looking after the world.

The Arts team areworking with students from Years 1-6 for St Peter's Got Talent which will be held in the hall on Wednesday 25 June at 2:15pm. Parents are welcome to attend.

Sports and Wellbeing team are working with staff around interschool sport.

Technology team provide support to many by setting up assemblies with the microphone and projector. They are also supporting The Arts team with technology support for St Peter's Got Talent.

We are grateful to our Year 6 students in taking on responsibilities and leading some exciting initiatives.

Closure Day

Staff completed Day 4 of the Berry St Education Model (BSEM) at our recent closure day.

We have now completed our training and are looking at how to implement further strategies to support our learning community to be the best version of themselves. Day 4 focussed on character- what character strengths do we have and how can we use them in our daily lives?
