Toilet Upgrade Funding Announced for Drysdale Primary School

We are pleased to share that Drysdale Primary School has been allocated $498,000 in funding through the Victorian Budget 2026/27 to support the update and refurbishment of our student bathroom facilities.

This funding will allow the school to improve and modernise existing amenities, helping to create more functional, updated and comfortable facilities for students and staff.

We know that well-maintained facilities play an important role in creating a positive school environment, and this investment will support ongoing improvements to our school infrastructure.

At this stage, we are awaiting further details regarding timelines and next steps for the project. We will keep our school community informed as more information becomes available.

We look forward to seeing these important upgrades progress and the positive impact they will have for our students and broader school community.

Thank you to Alison Marchant for her support and strong advocacy for Drysdale PS.

Drysdale RSL ANZAC Day Ceremony

Drysdale Primary School is proud to acknowledge the outstanding participation of our School Captains at the recent Drysdale RSL ANZAC Day Ceremony. Representing our school community with maturity, respect and pride our captains attended the service alongside local community members to honour the service and sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women.

Our School Captains did an excellent job contributing to the ceremony by confidently reading a commemorative poem and respectfully laying a wreath on behalf of the Drysdale PS community. Their thoughtful participation reflected the importance of the occasion and demonstrated the leadership qualities they bring to our school.

ANZAC Day is an important opportunity for our students to connect with Australia’s history and reflect on the values of courage, mateship and service.

We thank our captains for representing Drysdale PS so positively and for strengthening our school’s connection with the wider Drysdale community and the important traditions of ANZAC Day.

Celebrating Creativity at Drysdale PS – A New Approach to Our School Showcase Events

At Drysdale Primary School, our annual concert has long been a highlight of the school calendar. It is a much-loved tradition that brings our community together to celebrate student talent, confidence and teamwork. The concert provides students with the opportunity to perform in front of an audience, build stage presence, work collaboratively, and create lasting memories with their peers and families.

While the concert remains an important part of our school culture, we also recognise the need to better showcase the breadth of learning across all creative curriculum areas.

From 2026, Drysdale PS will move from holding a concert every year to a biennial concert model, with the concert taking place every second year. In the alternate years (starting this year), we will host a Drysdale PS Art Show.

This change will allow us to continue our valued performance tradition while also creating dedicated opportunities to celebrate student learning in Visual Arts and other creative areas across the curriculum. Our students engage in rich learning experiences that extend well beyond performance, including drawing, painting, sculpture, design, digital creativity and project-based learning. The Art Show will provide a platform for these achievements to be shared with families and the wider community.

Moving to a biennial model will also support a more sustainable approach for students and staff, allowing greater time for planning, preparation and the delivery of high-quality creative experiences.

We are excited about this new format, which ensures all students have opportunities to shine in different ways—whether on stage, through visual expression, or by sharing their creative learning with others.

We look forward to continuing our tradition of celebrating student creativity in ways that reflect the diverse talents of our Drysdale PS learners.

Dogs at Drysdale PS 🐾

At Drysdale Primary School, we understand that many families enjoy walking their dogs to and from school, and we are happy to welcome dogs on school grounds. We are also fortunate to have Harry, our school wellbeing dog, as an important part of our school community. Harry supports student wellbeing and is often around the school during the day.

To ensure Harry can safely do his important work, and to support the safety and comfort of all students, families, and pets, we ask that all dogs always remain on a lead and stay clear of common walkways, busy gathering areas, and entry points to school buildings. This helps reduce congestion during busy drop-off and pick-up times and allows Harry to move calmly around the school when needed.

Please also ensure that dogs do not enter any school buildings, including classrooms, offices, and indoor learning spaces.

Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a safe, welcoming, and orderly environment for all members of the Drysdale PS community.
