Dear Parents and Carers,
Easter Reflection
As we gathered over the weekend to celebrate the great feast of Easter, we were reminded once again of the profound hope at the heart of our faith. The Resurrection invites us to look beyond the challenges of daily life and recognise the promise of new beginnings - something we see so often in the growth, kindness, and resilience of our students.
This season encourages us to be people of light: to lift one another up, to forgive generously, and to carry the joy of the risen Christ into our homes, classrooms, and wider community. May the spirit of Easter continue to guide us in the weeks ahead, renewing our sense of purpose and deepening our commitment to nurturing a school environment where every child feels known, valued, and loved.
Palm Sunday Parish Mass
Last Sunday, our school community was blessed to join our Parish in celebrating Palm Sunday. Students from Our Lady Star of the Sea were invited to take part in the liturgy, offering a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our partnership with the Parish.
We extend our sincere thanks to Mrs Lindsay‑Thus and Bernadette from the Parish Centre for their dedication in preparing our Year 5 and 6 students so beautifully for the Mass. The church was filled with families, the music enriched the celebration, and the parish organised sausage sizzle after Mass created a joyful atmosphere for all.
A special acknowledgement goes to Fr John for his leadership and for guiding our community through this meaningful celebration.

Messina Visit for Principal Award Recipients
Last week, I had the pleasure of taking our Principal Award recipients to Messina to enjoy their well earned ice cream reward. I must admit, it was my first visit…and certainly not my last. It was a joy to celebrate our students’ hard work and positive contributions to our school community. Congratulations once again to all of our Principal Award recipients.

Term 2 Staff Development Days
Just a couple of dates for your diary in regards to our Term 2 Staff Development Days.
Friday 24 April - Sutherland Shire Network Schools with a focus on English
Monday 1st June - School Staff Development Day with a focus on Mathematics
As we reach the end of Term 1, it’s hard to believe how quickly this term has flown passed. On a personal note, I want to express my heartfelt thanks for the warm and generous welcome I’ve received since beginning here this year. It has been a joy getting to know our community, and I’m genuinely excited for all that lies ahead.
I wish every family a restful and refreshing break and look forward to seeing everyone back, ready for a wonderful Term 2.
God Bless,
