YEAR 5

FROM THE CLASSROOM

Welcome back to Term 2, we hope everyone had a nice and restful break!

We jumped straight back in routines and demonstrating the Ramlegh Park expectations ready for a successful and fun term.

This week students have begun developing knowledge about Morris Gleitzman, a famous author. This will support the students in our upcoming novel study in Reading.

In Writing, we have been learning our new Talk For Write text ‘Goldfields’ and have been practising some new narrative tools.

For Mathematics, we have been applying our knowledge from term 1 to solve problems with Multiplication and Division. We have also continued to strengthen our maths fluency skills, including skip counting, times tables and number bonds.

In Inquiry, we have been investigating new vocabulary that will link directly to our new unit, Notable Australians. Students have delved into what the word ‘notable’ means, and the different attributes associated with these types of people.
