YEAR 4

FROM THE TEAM
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Cross Country last week. It was quite a warm day and everyone put in such a great effort. Well done to those students who dressed up and showed their tribe spirit.
Well done to 4A, 4B, 4C, and 4D who moved classrooms for the week to accomodate for NAPLAN. In Reading, we have been reading a book called “Mirror” which looks at the similarities and differences between two families lives. The book is created by Jeanie Baker who also wrote “Circle”. Interestingly this text has no words so students are working on messages conveyed through images.
In Writing, students have enjoyed our new Talk for Writing text which is a discussion piece around whether or not the Big Bad Wolf should be banished. Students have enjoyed creating wanted posters about their Big Bad Wolf.
In Math's, students have been working through different strategies in multiplication. They have worked hard on the box strategy and multiplication stories. A helpful hint for all students would be to practise times tables at home to help their mathematic fluency.
In Inquiry, students have enjoyed creating their own flag for a country they are creating.
Camp Reminder: Please remember to pay your child’s camp deposit fees as soon as possible. Please contact the office if you want to know about your compass account. Please also complete consent forms on Compass as soon as possible so teachers can continue planning for this amazing event.
