Wellbeing- UR STONG Program

It has been wonderful to see such strong wellbeing across the school, with classrooms feeling settled and students showing a genuine sense of connection, friendship, and belonging.

This year, there will be many opportunities to celebrate friendships, belonging, and wellbeing. We are excited to introduce a new program into our classrooms, U R Strong

U R Strong is a friendship skills program that builds on students’ social and emotional skills year after year. Through explicit teaching, students learn emotional regulation strategies and how to manage conflict with kindness and respect. They are taught how to make friends, navigate common friendship challenges, and surround themselves with healthy, positive, feel-good friendships. We will be kicking this off with a special morning celebrating friendship and kindness across the school next Friday.

Also next week, to help us begin the year with a strong focus on student wellbeing, we are thrilled to host Georgina Manning, Director of Wellbeing for Kids, educator, counsellor, and psychotherapist. With extensive experience working in schools and supporting families, Georgina brings expert insight into both children’s and parents’ wellbeing. We strongly encourage at least one parent or carer from each family to attend this valuable seminar, where Georgina will share practical and positive strategies to support your own wellbeing and strengthen your child’s wellbeing and learning. Childcare will be available for school aged students.
