Principal's message

Welcome to 2026
Welcome back to school for 2026! I hope everyone had a fantastic break filled with rest and fun.
We are so excited to see the students bright smiles and eager minds ready to take on new challenges and adventures. This year promises to be full of opportunities to learn, grow, and shine. The staff have been working diligently since 27th January to develop engaging teaching and learning programs to meet the diverse needs of our students.
We look forward to partnering with our community as we work together to make this year the best one yet.
Staff Update
As we move into 2026, we have had some changes to our Peakhurst PS Team.
We would like to share some important news with our school community regarding two valued members of our team. Mrs Campbell, who has been a dedicated part of our Support Unit, and Ms Hood from the school office, will both be taking leave throughout 2026 as they prepare for their well-earned retirements in 2027.
Mrs Campbell has been a compassionate and tireless advocate for our students, providing invaluable support that has helped many children overcome challenges and thrive both academically and personally. Her commitment to the wellbeing and growth of every student has made a lasting impact on our school community.
Ms Hood, a familiar and friendly face in the office, has been instrumental in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the school. Her professionalism, warmth, and willingness to assist staff, students, and families alike have greatly contributed to the welcoming environment we enjoy.
As they enter this new phase of their lives, we want to sincerely thank Mrs Campbell and Ms Hood for their many years of service and dedication. We wish them all the very best for their upcoming leave and look forward to celebrating their outstanding careers later in the year.
We welcome new staff members joining the PPS Team. Please welcome these staff members:
- Mr Jack McGaughey - K-2 Assistant Principal
- Miss Emma Orrell - Stage 3 Teacher
Mrs Munazza Saeeda - Inclusive Education Teacher
A special welcome to the new families to Peakhurst PS, we hope you and your family feel part of our community.

I thank you for your anticipated cooperation and understanding.
Parent/Carer Meetings
As a school we value open communication between home and school. Our core business is teaching and learning, and during the hours of 9.20am - 3.25pm the duty of care of the staff is to ensure this is occurring.
While platforms such as ClassDojo can assist with short sharp information sharing, the school strongly recommends conversations are held for more complex issues. These can be held face-to-face or over the phone once an appointment has been scheduled.
Our staff will find a time to talk to you when they can give you their full attention. Please remember that while our staff are in class or dealing with other matters, they may not be available to answer your questions immediately.
It is always best for parents or carers to speak with the classroom teacher first. If this is not successful a request to speak to the Assistant Principal is encouraged. Where matters are complex, it is recommended to contact the office to make an appointment with the principal, provide a brief indication of the matter to ensure support staff can also be in attendance and a meeting time can be negotiated to suit all parties.
As a whole school community we will work together to ensure everyone feels respected.
