Year 7 Transition

Our Year 7 students have made an amazing start to secondary school through our staggered transition program. Across the first weeks, students have participated in a range of workshops focusing on organisation skills, stress management, and building positive routines for secondary school. There has also been a strong focus on getting to know their class, peers, and house groups, helping students feel connected and supported from day one.

Students enjoyed a scavenger hunt around the school to familiarise themselves with key areas, alongside a big emphasis on our school-wide positive behaviour expectations. The Swimming Carnival was another highlight, with Year 7s showing great enthusiasm, excitement and school spirit as they took part in the events.

In Week 2, the focus shifted to settling into regular classes, with students engaging in digital safety lessons and participating in our House Spirit Day. The Mini Olympics were a standout, with students competing enthusiastically for their houses and building a strong sense of belonging.

Our THRIVE and Wellbeing sessions have also played a key role, supporting students to become school-ready by developing strategies for managing stress, practising mindfulness and promoting overall wellbeing. It has been wonderful to see our Year 7s embracing the transition with such positivity and energy we are so proud of the way they have started their secondary school journey!
