Welcome to the 2026 School Year
Glen Eira College has a dedicated Careers and Pathways Team that conducts career programs which encourage the development of career awareness and supports students and families to make informed pathway decisions.
Our Careers and Pathways Team help students explore their options and identify their passions and interests that they wish to pursue.
Students will receive the following services:
- Career Planning and Development
- Development of Career Action Plans
- Personality Assessments, including Morrisby Online and other online tools
- Career Tests / Assessments
- Career Exploration and Management – (Discover and Explore).
- Work Experience/Work Education Programs
- Provide careers counselling and assistance to individual students and parents including advice regarding VET Pathways and the VCE Vocational Major (VM) Pathway
- Oversee the enrolment of students in VET and other Pathways
- Access to career counselling at any time upon request.
- One-on-one sessions with the Careers Counsellor.
- Information on Victorian Government-Funded VET courses (Skills Shortage Occupations)
- Access to Traineeships and Apprenticeships via the Headstart Program
- Job Seeking resources
- Provide customized and tailored Resumes, Cover Letters and Key Selection Criteria assistance
- Job Interview preparation and assistance
- Assist students to explore traditional, new and emerging jobs and industries through online tools, Tertiary Information Sessions, Open Days and guest speakers.
- Provide focused seminars and personal interviews for Year 12 students and their families throughout the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) course application and offer acceptance process.
- Student follow-up after leaving school including advice and support which is available if required.
