Learning

Welcome back to Term 3. I hope all of our families had a restful and relaxing holiday break and were able to enjoy some quality time together.
My family and I were lucky enough to spend time travelling around Tasmania in a motorhome, exploring many of the natural wonders and tourist experiences across the state. It was a wonderful reminder that learning can happen in so many different ways, through new places, conversations, questions and shared experiences.
As we begin the new term, our focus at Balambalam is on continuing to strengthen the learning experience for every student. Our Curriculum Leadership Team has been busy preparing for our upcoming student-free day on Monday 3rd August.
On this day, all staff will be working together to deepen our shared understanding of how children learn best. This professional learning will focus on the science of learning and how we can use this knowledge to support students in classrooms every day.
For families, this means our staff are continuing to work together to build consistent approaches across the school. We will be exploring how to strengthen classroom routines, support student attention, explain new learning clearly, provide opportunities for practice, and respond to the different needs of learners.
As a new school, this work is especially important. We are continuing to build the structures, practices and shared understandings that will help every child feel seen, supported and successful in their learning.
We look forward to a positive and productive Term 3 and thank families for your continued partnership as we keep building Balambalam together.
Warm regards,
Daniel Wragg
