Youth myki Design Competition 2026
Are you the next myki-angelo?
You might have heard that under 18s now travel free on all public transport with a Youth myki. Last year, 11-year-old Charlie took out the top design in the Youth myki Design competition, and you can see his design on all Youth myki’s today.
We’re on the lookout for the next Youth myki design!
Submit your design and tell us about what inspired it - your artwork could be featured on the next Youth myki AND you could win a $1,000 prize!
Three designs will be shortlisted and voting will open to the public – the design with the most votes will be chosen as the new Youth myki design and will be available for purchase online in 2027.

Eligibility
To enter the Youth myki Card Design Competition, you must:
- be a resident of Victoria
- be aged between 5 and 17 years old on 31 December 2026
ensure your parent or guardian has read the terms and conditions notice and has consented for you to enter.
How to enter
1. Download the Youth myki Card Design template (PDF | 80.0 KB).
2. Create your design using the template.
3. Write a short explanation (1–2 sentences) about what inspired your design.
4. Fill out the form below and upload your entry by 11:59pm 2 August 2026. Note: The Competition is limited to one entry per person.
Prep bags 2027 design competition!
Overview
The Department of Education is inviting young Victorians to showcase their creativity for the opportunity to design next year’s Prep bags. The theme for the 2027 Prep bags is ‘My year of Prep’.
The winning artist’s design will feature on the front of the 2027 Prep bags. These will be given to thousands of students starting Prep at a Victorian government school next year.
Who can take part
All current Prep students at Victorian government schools are eligible to submit their design.
Prep students can be attending a Victorian government primary, P-12, specialist or language school.
Participants must be Victorian residents.
How to take part
Artwork should reflect the competition theme.
Submissions can be either hand drawn or digitally designed. Designs must be in black marker using our template or a blank white A4 sheet of paper. Digital designs must be in black on a white background.
The design must be the child’s original work.
The competition allows one entry per person.
How to enter
- Have your parent/guardian read the competition guidelines and the terms and conditions.
- Create a design that reflects ‘My year of Prep’.
- Tell us about your design (1-2 sentences).
- Have your parent/guardian fill out the submission form and upload your artwork either as a JPG or PNG file by 11:59pm on Sunday 9 August 2026.
