NAIDOC Celebrations
Gawura Cultural Immersions Day
Yesterday and today, our school proudly hosted a special Gawura Cultural Immersions Day to celebrate the rich traditions and heritage of Aboriginal peoples. The event began on Thursday morning in the park area with a Smoking Ceremony, attended by students, parents, carers, and community members. Following the ceremony, everyone enjoyed a vibrant cultural dance performance.
Over the two days, students engaged in a range of hands-on activities and storytelling sessions facilitated by Gawura Cultural Immersions, an organisation dedicated to authentic Aboriginal cultural programs. These experiences deepened students’ understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture.
It was a meaningful and inspiring two days of connection, learning, and celebration for everyone involved.
Education Week
Education Week is just around the corner! Join us for our Open Day on Wednesday, 5 August. This year’s theme, Inspiring Excellence, celebrates the dedication and hard work of our staff and students who strive to achieve their best every day.
Parents and carers are warmly welcome to visit our open classrooms, witness our amazing book parade, enjoy a picnic with their child, attend the online Guardians parent information session, and browse the Book Fair in the library. Please see below for the schedule of the day. We look forward to seeing you there!
Tennis Knock Out Final
Our Chatswood PSSA tennis team has returned victorious, winning the knockout competition final against Gosford Public School! After their impressive semi-final performance last term, the team went on to secure a fantastic win in the grand final, becoming champions of Sydney North. Each player showed outstanding skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
Congratulations to Mark K, Quinlan L, Misaki M, Maria Z, and Mia M (injured but chief cheerleader) you have made our school proud with your amazing achievement! Well done on bringing home the championship! The team will now move on to the regional stage as they progress towards the Victor J Kelly Trophy. We wish them the best of luck on their journey!
