Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to Term 3! I hope you and your family had a restful school holiday break, or, if you travelled, a safe and enjoyable trip. I also had the opportunity to take a holiday around the end of Term 2, and I returned home feeling refreshed and ready for another exciting term with our wonderful CPS community.

Yesterday morning, I was delighted to attend the NAIDOC Community Gathering on our school campus alongside many parents and carers. It was a privilege to experience the Smoking Ceremony and Cultural Dance Performance, and I would like to thank the school for organising such a meaningful event that celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and brought our community together.

The P&C has another exciting term ahead, with several popular events already being planned. These include our Father's Day Breakfast BBQ on Friday, 4 September, the much-loved School Disco on Friday, 11 September after school, and our Term 3 Community Morning Tea during the final week of term. We are also working towards holding a Second-hand Uniform Pop-up Shop in the school hall during Term 3. More information will be shared closer to each event. As always, these events rely on the generosity of our parent and carer volunteers, so please consider signing up when our volunteer forms are released.

Our next P&C monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, 28 July at 7:30pm via Zoom. We warmly encourage all parents and carers to join us to hear the latest updates from both the school executive team and the P&C. As we also begin planning for 2027, the P&C will be actively seeking parents and carers who are interested in joining the committee. We already know that several of our current committee members will be finishing their time at CPS as their children graduate from Year 6, so we will be looking for new volunteers to continue the great work of the P&C. Whether you are interested in taking on a committee role or simply volunteering at events, we would love to hear from you.
