You’re Invited: Help Shape the Future of Our Church in Australia

His Grace, Archbishop Anthony Fisher, has convoked a diocesan Synod for Sydney between the 30 April to 3 May 2026 to address the Holy Spirit-inspired longings communicated by the People of God in Sydney after many years of consultation, Archbishop’s convocation letter. The Archbishop is seeking positive, practical and faithful ideas on how we can make our Church in Sydney more vibrant through three, repeated longings for more prayerful liturgies, more Christ-centred communities and to be more mission-oriented.

Please get involved by discussing these longings within your communities and then, by bringing your ideas on how these longings can be met to our regional consultations. The Pope's Monthly Prayer Intention for September. Care for Creation.

For our relationship with all of creation:

Let us pray that, inspired by Saint Francis, we might experience our interdependence with all creatures who are loved by God and worthy of love and respect.  Amen.

Growing Creativity and Connection in Playgroup

Each Monday, our youngest community members dive into arts and crafts activities that not only spark joy but also nurture important developmental skills. Through drawing, gluing, threading, and building, children strengthen their fine motor skills, develop hand-eye coordination, and learn to express themselves in playful, meaningful ways. These creative moments also foster imagination, problem-solving, and confidence, laying the foundation for lifelong learning. Next term, we’re excited to bring the St Anthony’s Garden back to life, and our Monday Playgroup crew will be at the heart of it. Together, we’ll plant, water, and care for the garden as it grows, helping children experience the wonder of creation and the joy of nurturing something beautiful. Stay tuned for details.

Dear families,

As we approach the school holidays, we’re reminded of the gift of rest, not just as a pause from routine, but as a sacred invitation to slow down, reconnect, and be renewed.

In the busyness of school life, it’s easy to fill every moment with activity. But Scripture reminds us:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

These holidays offer a chance to lean into that promise. Whether it’s time spent with family, a walk in nature, or simply a quiet moment to breathe, may this break be a time to rediscover the beauty of stillness and the joy of presence.

For our students, it’s a chance to play, imagine, and explore. And for all of us, an opportunity to reflect on how God is gently leading us, often in the quiet, often in the ordinary.

Wishing you all a safe, restful, and grace-filled holiday.

Warm blessings,

Laura Neeson
