September Library Challenge -Spring into Reading
Thank you to those students who sent along photos for our August Library Challenge. The photos of the students’ favourite or unusual reading place were super.
The September Library Challenge is for the students to create a poster to promote the slogan Spring into Reading. This is a voluntary activity for the students to choose to do at home. Students who participate earn 5 Responsibility Dojo Points. They can hand in their posters to the library by the last day of term 3. They can use any pens, pencils, crayons or materials to create their poster. We look forward to seeing some creative posters.
Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge.
This week sees the end of the Premiers Reading Challenge. Please make sure you and your child have entered all the books they have been reading onto the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge website so they can be verified.
Author Visit
On Tuesday, author Matt Kozacos, picture book author, will be visiting the school to talk with the grade 4s and 5s about his writing and publishing process. We look forward to his 45 minute Reading and Q & A session with the students. We welcome Matt to our school and look forward to hearing the ‘behind the scenes’ of writing.
Library books
Please ensure your child returns their library books before the end of term so that the shelves can be restocked and refreshed. If your child is having difficulty finding library books, or is unsure of the books that need to be returned, please let me know so I can check the library shelves.

Breakfast Club Update
The Breakfast Club continues to be popular again this term.
The Breakfast Club was established in 2022 to support those students that struggle to have a breakfast before arriving at school.
It provides an opportunity for students to come through, grab some brekky before tackling the school day - in the process aiding their learning and focus by getting some food in their systems!
While still catering for those students it appears that a large majority of those attending are coming for a second breakfast.
We are seeking donations of non-perishable breakfast foods (e.g. Cereal, jam and spreads or a gold coin donation to purchase bread, milk, and butter) to ensure we can continue the program for all students.
Please note that Breakfast Club is NOT a substitute for the SAC program - rather a place for students to come and grab a cup of cereal or piece of toast, particularly if they’ve not been able to at home, once the school gates are open at 8.40am.
The SAC program has also extended its breakfast time, to capture later arrivals.
Donations can be left at the office or Breakfast Club.
Kind Regards
Sue
