Hello everyone and welcome to our newsletter article,

Pat Cronin Foundation, Monday 8th September, Assembly @9:10

We are pleased to announce that Ayden, an educator from the Pat Cronin Foundation will attend our school on Monday, 8th September. We will be introducing Ayden to our community at assembly, at 9:10 on this day. He will speak about the values of the Pat Cronin Foundation; Be Wise, Think Carefully & Act Kindly which strongly align with our school values and our message; that violence is never the answer. We are inviting all community members to attend assembly to welcome him to Heidelberg Primary School.

Year 4, 5 and 6 families would will receive communication via Compass newsfeed regarding classroom presentations.

Online Safety 

A few years ago we partnered with Evolve Education who have facilitated student, parent and staff workshops each year. Their website has some excellent free resources including many specifically for parents and families. https://evolve-edu.com.au/parent-support-hub/ There are a number of key messages from Steve and Bec at Evolve including protecting personal information, being cautious with unknown people or links, using strong passwords, and maintaining respectful behaviour online. We should always encourage students to tell a trusted adult if something online makes them feel uncomfortable or scared. Parents/ carers can discuss privacy settings on apps and devices at home, block unwanted contacts, and both through home and education at school we can teach them about the permanence of online content.
