Principal's Report

Dear HPS Community,

Father’s Day @ HPS

This morning at our Father's Day Morning Tea, it was simply wonderful to see so many dads, grandpas, uncles and other important role models connecting and engaging with their children and other families within the community.

There was a great vibe as people chatted, joked and played.

Events like this remind us of the significant role that fathers and father-figures play in the lives of children. Male role models – whether they are dads, stepdads, grandfathers, uncles, older brothers, coaches, or family friends – help children develop confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. The time, care and encouragement they provide have a lasting impact on children’s learning, wellbeing and future aspirations.

We also recognise that Father’s Day can look different for every family, and we welcome all “special people” who play a nurturing role in our students’ lives. What matters most is the presence of positive, caring relationships that support our children to thrive.

A special thanks to Neha and Jenny for helping with the set-up, and to Bakers Delight for their very generous donation! Thanks also to Lavanya, Andrew, Mona, and EJ for all their hard work and organisation. Truly amazing effort!

Thanks to Jack and Sam in helping with all the logistics from school.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the morning tea, and to our school community for helping make this celebration such a memorable one.

Wishing all a very Happy Father's Day on Sunday! We hope you get deservedly spoilt.

Pat Cronin Foundation

We would love to have as many of our HPS parents, carers and community members join us for the school assembly on Monday morning, where we will hear some important messages as shared by the Pat Cronin Foundation. Please see the Assistant Principal page for further details. Year 4-6 families have also been sent further details of the presentations and workshops that will be delivered to classes throughout the day.

Be Wise, Think Carefully & Act Kindly

Building Works Update

Works continue to progress in preparation for our new learning centre and gymnasium.

The learning centre will include 4 classrooms, STEM room, meeting room and toilets. The gymnasium will include a full sized basketball/netball court as well as a kitchen area and toilets.

The work on reinstating the portables and SAC building ready for use again are coming along well, with staircases service connection being the focus. Concrete paths have been pour and landscaping is being started.

The temporary toilets, placed near the COLA, will soon be ready for student use in place of the bottom school toilets, which will be demolished in preparation for the gymnasium building.

The learning centre site continues to have ground service works being completed.

It is a very exciting time as we continue to upgrade and modernise our facilities and grounds. The build is expected to be completed approximately end 2026/ start 2027.
