What's On In 3/4

Questacon
Maths in Action: Pair-Based Games & Challenges at Questacon-Inspired Sessions!
This term, students are exploring the exciting world of maths through hands-on games and problem-solving activities, all designed to spark curiosity, teamwork, and critical thinking.
Working in pairs, students tackle challenges that encourage logical reasoning, quick thinking, and collaborative problem-solving, just like real mathematicians!
Maths – Rotational Symmetry
This week, students explored rotational symmetry by combining geometry, angles, and design. Using protractors, they measured and constructed precise angles to create beautiful symmetrical patterns.
By rotating shapes around a central point, students deepened their understanding of degrees, shape properties, and symmetry, all while creating eye-catching mathematical artworks.
A fun and creative way to see how maths and art connect through tools, design, and precision!
Literacy - My Reading Life
Our Reading Life
In Literacy, we’ve been exploring books that have sparked our curiosity and left a lasting impact. Students have reflected on stories that hold special meaning, books that made us think, laugh, wonder, or stay with us long after the final page.
It’s been a wonderful journey into the books that shape our reading lives and create lifelong memories.
Look out for our pieces of work in the next newsletter!
Biography Writing in Progress
In Writing, students have been steadily working on biographies of their favourite people — from inspiring historical figures to personal heroes. This process has involved researching, drafting, and crafting thoughtful narratives that highlight the lives and achievements of their chosen individuals.
We're still working on our final presentations, taking the time to ensure each piece reflects our best effort. Stay tuned for our next newsletter, where we’ll proudly share our wonderful finished work!
