Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Update

Assistant Principal Curriculum and Reporting: Kara Dunstan
Learning Specialist Curriculum (Years 7 - 10): Alison Dowler
Learning Specialist Numeracy: Matt Wright
As we come to the end of Term 3, we reflect on a busy and productive term across the school.
Earlier this term, families received mid-term reports to provide an update on student progress. We encourage to review this report with your student to help set them up for a successful Term 4. The next reporting cycle will be end-of-semester reports, as well as a new addition to the reporting cycle - Jumpstart reports, which will help focus students and identify any supports needed heading into the new school year.
This term also saw the release of NAPLAN results, which were sent home with students. If you did not receive your student's results, please contact the College so we can provide you with a copy. For the first time, students were recognised not only for their proficiency achievement, but also their growth.
We are especially proud to celebrate those who achieved high growth or increased proficiency in reading and/or numeracy. These students received certificates signed by the Minister for Education and the CEO of the Victorian Curriculum Assessment Authority:
Jemma Bypost-Libbis, Makayla De Vries, Bernie Pirini, Henry Staave-Fischer, Kobi Griffin, Thord Hansson, Genesis Kaitara, Ivy Rooney, Bella Sparkes, Max Virgona, Taj Wilson, Coco Eder, Elliot Hook, Emily Hope, Natalie Murray, Austin Stephenson, Chaz Harrison, Kyan Andrews, Tahlia Berryman, Hayley Greensmith, Riley Hackett, Logan Hannah, Sara Savage, Xavier Adair, Kate Mirabella and Ruby Blake.
Congratulations to all of these students on their outstanding achievements!
In addition, we have launched a Numeracy Improvement Program on a Wednesday afternoon during Period 5 for Year 8 students. Students were selected for the program based on their previous NAPLAN and PAT Maths results. The focus of the program is to further strengthen students’ numeracy skills, setting them up for success in Year 9, senior school, and beyond.
We held our onsite and online conferences this week and it was wonderful to see so many families engaging in rich and meaningful conversations with teachers about student learning. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed. Looking ahead, we are excited to introduce a new conference format in 2026, which will further strengthen the partnerships between home and school.
Finally, a special mention to the top three students of each year level who participated in the Maths Competition this term. They were:
Year 7
Toby Hook, Jordan Connell, Dax Hayes
Year 8
Milla Kerber, Summer Farrell, Elizabeth Stohr
Year 9
Ruby Blake, Chaz Harrison, Ivy Rooney
Year 10
Lenny Graham, William Boyce, Zac Mur
Congratulations to these students who will now participate in the Grand Final! Winners will be announced next week.
As we close out Term 3, we thank all students, families, and staff for their hard work and dedication. We look forward to a strong finish to the year as we move into Term 4.
