Grade 6

Literacy
Over the next two weeks, we will be finishing our novel study on the text 'Us Mob Walawurru.' This unit will conclude with assessments to see the growth in students' reading comprehension, and writing skills. The students have been learning about the structure and language devices of informative texts.
Numeracy
It has been great to see improvements in students' number fluency from our daily 'Facts on Fire' practice.
Over the next fortnight, we will be learning about the following data investigation concepts:
-Interpreting side-by-side column graphs.
-Interpreting line graphs.
-Communicating findings of a statistical investigation.
We will then transition to our fractions, decimals, and percentages unit, which will focus on:
-Calculating percentage discounts (50%).
-Calculating percentage discounts (25%).
-Calculating percentage discounts (10%).
-Calculating percentage discounts (multiples of 10%).
-Using division and multiplication to calculate unit and non-unit fractions.
-Using division and multiplication to calculate decimals and percentages.
Creative Connections
Students have been making connections to their novel study 'Us Mob Walawurru.' They have been creating totum animals that represent themselves.

Rehearsal during the day and students to be dropped by parents at Costa hall at 5:00pm. Show starts at 6.00pm.
