Over the last two weeks, the grade 4 students have completed their unit on Captain Cook's First Voyage and shift to delving into the study of the novel, His Name was Walter by Jennifer Rowe (Emma Rodda). The story is a story within a story, where the main characters read a book about a boy named Walter and a tragic, mysterious girl named Sparrow, which involves a long-buried secret and prophecy.

Mathematics
In mathematics, students have continued exploring 3D shapes, focusing on constructing models from cubes and combining different 3D shapes to create new objects. Later this week, they will begin a new unit on probability, starting with activities that involve ordering events from most likely to least likely to occur.
Students have continued to develop their number fluency with short, practise sessions each day.
