Grade 2

English

In English, the Grade 2's have been continuing to work on their novel study, ' Wandi,' by Favel Parrett. They will be exploring vocabulary such as, 'whimper,' 'shudder,' 'cherished,' 'snarled' and 'ajar.' In Syntax and Grammar, the students will be completing sentences when provided with a sentence stem containing one of the following conjunctions: since, whenever. The students will also be working on editing and revising their narrative writing.

Mathematics 

Students will be learning about re-grouping 3 digit numbers twice, estimating volume and continuing daily fluency practice. 

Creative Connections

During Creative Connections the students have been using a range of materials to construct responses to different parts of 'Wandi,' including creative interpretations of characters and settings.

3rd November: Curriculum Day – no school for students

4th November: Public Holiday Melbourne Cup – no school for students

13th November: SCHOOL CONCERT DAY! Rehearsal during the day and students to be dropped by parents at Costa hall at 5:00pm. Show starts at 6.00pm.

19th November: Prep Excursion to Werribee Zoo

1st December: Prep to Grade 3 Swimming program begins

9th December: Whole school transition day

11th December: Christmas Picnic at 4.30pm

15th December: House Sports Day

18th December: 9:15am Final Assembly

19th December: Last day of Term 4 - casual dress 

1:15pm Prep classroom celebration and farewell (families invited) 1.30pm dismissal
