Do you collect anything?

Yes, I collect gnome meerkats from Woollies. I’m on the lookout for a Halloween version at the moment, but I’m waiting until they’re on sale.

If you could choose to be anything for a day, what would it be?

A book, specifically in a library, because it would be interesting to see the people who pick it up. I imagine that, as the book, I could hear everyone talking, so I would still hear stories.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I’m going to go with truffle fries and a good margherita pizza.

Is there anyone who has influenced you as a teacher? In what way?

We get asked this a lot as teachers, and I would actually say my younger sister. Even though she’s not a teacher, she’s ten years younger than me, and I taught her a lot, which I loved. Everyone thinks she goes to this school and that I’m lying, but she really doesn’t.

What book/TV series/podcasts are you into at the moment?

I’ve become obsessed with the book I’m reading, Fourth Wing. A TV show I’m watching at the moment is the new season of Grey’s Anatomy. I’m also watching Halloween movies — over the weekend I watched the original Chucky.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Supporting students, specifically with their mental health, is really important to me. It’s especially rewarding when I can help them, and they use the strategies I gave them successfully.

What is your favourite music?

That’s such a hard question. I was obsessed with Gwen Stefani when I was a kid, so I love the band No Doubt and the song ‘Just A Girl’. More recently, I'd say Conan Gray — I went to his concert last year — and I’ve got tickets to see Olivia Dean next year.

What is your ideal way to unwind and relax?

Reading, crocheting or knitting, and watching The X-Files or Gilmore Girls while doing so.

What was your favourite subject at school?

In my junior years, I liked maths, which is weird, but I did. In my senior years, I loved Psychology.

What would you sing at karaoke night?

I always pick Adele, which is probably a mistake because I cannot sing, but I still choose her. And anything by ABBA, of course.

When you were little, what did you aspire to be?

A ballerina. I grew up dancing, so I always wanted to be a ballerina — until I turned 13 and realised I didn’t really want that life.

Who would you like to swap places with for a day?

I would actually say a student at the school, because I’d want to experience all the specialisms they have, learn everything they do, and have all the teachers they have.

Thanks, Ms Eales!
