On the 8th of March, the year 3 and 4 students went to CERES in Brunswick.

The purpose of this excursion was to develop the students’ understanding of living and non-living things. We learnt of the positive and not-so-positive impacts of human interactions on an ecosystem through lots of hands-on activities.

The children participated in three activities on the day. They discovered a wetland ecosystem and how it supports local biodiversity. The next activity was identifying habitat needs of different native fauna. The final activity was exploring the urban water cycle and learning how water management affects the health of ecosystems.
