TERM 1 Interschool Sports

VOLLEYBALL

With over 70 students keen to participate in the Colleges first sports competition multiple trials were held to select the volleyball teams. All students trialled well and should be commended for their efforts.

Leading up to the event, the selected students spent countless hours practicing during their recess and lunch breaks. It was great to see such commitment!

On the day, the Year 7 girls had some tough competition, however they worked well together in each of their matches. Unfortunately, they did not come away with any wins.

Our Year 7 boys team were allocated to pool D and they got off to a flying start with an impressive win against Baden Powell P-9 College in straight sets. Our second pool match against Manor Lakes College was a bit closer and the boys had to fight out a third set, but again came away with the win - this ensured the boys team won Pool D and would play off in the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals Brinbeal SC came up against the Grange P-12 College. Brinbeal won the first set, however the Grange fought back and won the second set, this would see the boys play a third and deciding set. In a tough and tight competition that saw both teams have multiple match points, unfortunately the boys went down 19-17 in the decider.

all boys are to be congratulated on their performance, sportsmanship and team work as they secured 3rd place (out of 12 secondary schools) in Wyndham.
