Physical Education News

Dear students, parents and families,

We have gotten off to an amazing start this term our Prep students are settling in an learning the routines of PE. Our Grade 1 and 2 students are demonstrating excellent locomotor skills and have really retained the knowledge and movement skills from previous years. On top of that in our senior school the Grade 3’s are really developing their knowledge of Tee-ball, Grade 4’s are showing exceptional game-play in Teeball, whilst our Grade 5’s are developing their cricket specific skills and game play, with our Grade 6’s moving onto Softball with pitching it really has been a great start. Over the next 2 weeks all our Grade 1-6 students will complete their movement assessments - please see your PE Teacher for more information about this.

Grade 3-6 - Game Sense

Our Grade 3 to 6 cohort are continuing with the game-sense unit of Striking and Fielding Games, the emphasis of the unit is to develop striking technique, awareness of fielder positions when on the offence and understand how to restrict scoring and increase the number of batter you get out when on defence. The skills and movements are similar across all the striking and fielding games and we look to identify those students who can apply cross-game skills effectively.
