Nurturing Leaders

Term 1 has been filled with opportunities for our students to be involved in leadership opportunities inside and outside the classroom.

Harry Foster - Year 6 Team Leader

Last Friday, all the Year 6 students were involved in an Incursion titled Lead it! Students explored diverse leadership styles and learned that leadership isn't about badges—it's a quality within each individual.

The incursion focused on identifying key leadership qualities like empathy, communication, teamwork, and resilience. By breaking down stereotypes, students discovered that leadership is a skill everyone possesses, not limited to formal titles. Our goal was to empower students with confidence, collaboration skills, and initiative. It was a great day for our young leaders.

Jude Shields - Head of Senior Secondary

On Tuesday, our Captains and Student Ambassadors participated in an empowering student leadership training day at Waverley Christian College (Narre Warren South Campus). The mission was to discover an understanding of what authentic Christian leadership looks like in action. The day was filled with a dynamic mixture of input sessions, fun games and discussions aimed at teaching simple leadership strategies. It provided a great opportunity to connect with other student leaders from our Christian school networks across Melbourne.

Our Circus Adventure with Mr Circus!

Su-Ann - Year 1 Team Leader

“Call me Mr. Circus!,” exclaimed the energetic juggler. The Year 1 students and teachers gave out a big loud thrilling shriek as they watched him juggle and spin plates with ease and enthusiasm.

Year 1 students were treated to a circus performance and opportunity to learn new circus skills on Monday 26 February. It wasn't just about jaw-dropping performances; it was an exhilarating journey that taught us valuable lessons about growth mindset, taking risks in our learning, and embracing fun and excitement in a safe and supportive learning environment.

The show began with Mr. Circus, a master juggler, dazzling us with his mesmerising skills. He didn't just juggle pins, knives, and scarves; Mr. Circus introduced us to the thrilling art of spinning colourful plates on long wooden sticks! We were spellbound as he effortlessly balanced plate after plate, showing us that learning new and exciting skills can be both challenging and rewarding.

Our circus adventure with Mr. Circus was a thrilling journey of growth, excitement, and fun. From mastering the art of juggling to experiencing the thrill of spinning plates, we discovered the power of embracing challenges with courage and curiosity.

As we bid farewell to the circus, we carried with us the joyous memories and valuable lessons learned from Mr. Circus – lessons that will inspire us to continue exploring, learning, and embracing the excitement of new experiences.
