Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

The fourth week of Lent is upon us. Father Richard Leonard  in his homily on the reading of this week says 'The Gospel reminds us that if we feel condemned for what we have done and said, then it’s because we have condemned ourselves, not because God condemns us. John tells us that even when we find ourselves lost in the darkness of our most destructive behaviour, the saving love of Christ is always available to us, inviting us to come out of the darkness into his light.'

May we find the courage to ask for forgiveness, to move from the darkness into the light of Christ.

After a beautiful celebration on Saturday we welcome Mrs Dixon back to school. Congratulations on your beautiful wedding Madie and Aydon. We wish you every happiness for your life together.

This week we have had 2 successful Cross Country events.  Thank you to Mrs Winduss who coordinated the school house Cross Country.  Francis house was the winner on the day. We thank all the children for their participation and sportsmanship.

Today we had 28 children participate in the District cross country. Thank you to Mrs de Veer, Ms Marks and Mrs Canavan for their management of the children at this event. The children ran wonderfully and showed the Saint Anne's way through their sportsmanship. Well done!

A reminder to all families that sometimes children have differences in the playground. When this occurs the school follows our policies regarding behaviour management.  Please make yourself aware of the Parent Code of Conduct so that we have clarity of the expectations of families when dealing with difficult situations.  The code of conduct can be found on the next page of this newsletter, the school website and has been sent out on seesaw recently.

Next week Four of our Grade 6 Leaders will have the wonderful opportunity to swim with the Dolphins as part of their Marine Ambassadors program. We hope that this is a memorable experience for these children.

On Wednesday the Grade 5/6  children go off to Adventure Camp. We wish them well and hope they have the time of their life.

Next week we begin NAPLAN testing for the Grade 3 children and there is an information meeting for Foundation Parents on Tuesday at 2.45pm.

Please keep Rod in your prayers as he recovers from surgery.

God bless

Sally Thomas

Acting Principal
