Kinross Wolaroi School will be hosting its Country Fair on Saturday 2 March 2024. The Fair will be held on the main Wolaroi Oval from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The Kinross Wolaroi School Fair is a tradition that unites our school and community in a day filled with fun and entertainment.

Entry and Parking

Entry to the Country Fair is free. Cash and EFTPOS payment will be available for food, stalls and activities. Please note that the School's main drive off Bathurst Road will be reserved for pedestrian access on the day of the Fair.  Pedestrians may also enter via the Allenby Road and Cox Avenue gates.

 

Parking will be available at the Orange Function Centre, the Junior School Carpark and adjacent basketball courts (enter via the school's Cox Avenue entrance near Bathurst Rd). Parking is also plentiful on surrounding streets.

Disabled parking (with a permit only) will be available in the reception carpark and these vehicles will be permitted to use the main drive for access.

Golden Ridge Animal Farm - Come along to meet adorable baby lambs, goats, ducklings, rabbits and more at the Golden Ridge Animal Farm. $5 entry.

Pooka Magic | Balloons | Comedy - Two FREE magic shows will feature on the main stage at 11.30am and 1.00pm.  A fun magic and balloon booth will run all day.

Live Music all day - Live performances from our outstanding Music Faculty will feature all day on the main stage.

Volunteer

Each year group has been allocated a stall to run on the day and we are looking for parents and carers to help us. You can volunteer your time by signing up to help on your year group's stall by clicking the link below.

Donations

The Fair will be accepting donations every Thursday and Friday until Friday 1 March, from 8:00am – 8:45am.The drop off zone is located at 95 Bathurst Road. If you have any items you would like to drop off sooner, small items can be left at Reception/Junior School Office or if large, please email Harriet Alker on halker@kws.nsw.edu.au.

 

What do we require? We're asking the whole community to help with the following donations ...

  • The White Elephant Stall is still looking for quality homewares, children's toys, games, puzzles, sporting goods and clothing.
  • The Jar Stall is looking for fun-filled jars (minimum value of $2) of edible goodies, toys, vouchers, make up, or anything else you can imagine that is new and will sell.
  • The Jams and Preserves Stall is very much in need of your delicious cooking contributions!
  • The Plant Stall would love your donations and prefers to see them delivered just prior to Fair day - drop off outside Senior School Reception on Friday 1 March.
  • The Cake Stall has boxes available and we hope every family will donate cakes, slices or biscuits. Cake boxes are available from both Senior and Junior Reception.

Preserving our heritage

Our fundraising efforts at the Fair will be dedicated to the restoration of the Wolaroi Mansion. Beyond being an integral part of our school's identity, the mansion holds historical significance within the Orange community. The Tower of the mansion closed off for safety reasons for over five years, will undergo a complete restoration. Once finished, the building will accommodate three new teaching areas, an expanded boarders' dining room, offices, and meeting rooms. With the addition of a lift and ramps, it will be fully accessible. It will once again be a showcase and focus of the school and our local history.
