Learning Diversity
Learning Diversity
“All students regardless of race, age or gender, by virtue of their dignity as human persons, have a right to an education that is suited to their particular needs and adapted to their ability”. Pope Paul VI 1965.
Diversity encompasses all learners across cultural, academic, social, emotional and physical attributes.
‘Learning diversity’ refers to the infinite variety of life experiences and attributes a child brings to their formal learning at school. Educators seek to meet the needs of all learners, so that every student experiences success.
St. Anthony’s School is committed to providing every child with access to quality education as a fundamental right and as a prerequisite for human development. All students with diverse learning needs at our school are part of our engaging education on the same basis as their peers.
Our fabulous team of Learning Support Officers continue to provide an additional and specialist resource to all classroom teachers and students everyday.
Here is a look at all the fantastic learning and work that is occurring in our school with the continued support of our LSO (Learning Support Officers) staff.
Intervention
Intervention is designed to promote the implementation of evidence - based practices. It promotes scaffolded learning approaches to strategically support learners at their identified point of need so each child can progress in their learning.
Elizabeth Martello works with students across the school providing support and intervention as required to continue to help our students progress and learn.
The students look forward to the opportunity to work in targeted groups or one on one with a specific focus in Literacy.
