3 Way Parent Student Teacher Conferences:  19th and 26th of March

We encourage all parents/carers to attend the 3 Way Parent, Student & Teacher Conferences with bookings available through Compass. The aim of these meetings is for your children to be able to showcase work they are proud of and it is also an opportunity for parental input into individual learning goals.

Please follow these Compass instructions to book your interview time with your child's teacher:

  • Open in Browser
  • From the Compass homepage click the hamburger menu button at the top left (three horizontal bars) and then select 'Conferences'.
  • To start the booking process click on the 2023 Term 2, 3 way conference option.
  • Once you've selected the cycle you will first be shown a popup which contains information from the school. Read the message and click 'Okay' at the bottom to continue.
  • Select your student to proceed with booking.
  • Select your child's teacher from the Right Hand Side of the screen.
  • To book in just click an available (white) timeslot.
  • This will open a booking popup for you to confirm.
  • Confirm booking

Bookings are made more easily from a device other than a phone.  If you are having trouble making a booking, please call Kate in the front office and she will be able to help you.

Past Student Mason Keeys is  taking part in The World's Greatest Shave.  Mason has not cut his hair since 2019!  We wish Mason all the best in his fundraising endeavours and have included the link if you would like to support this amazing cause and see how much hair he is going to donate.

Return and Earn is back for our school!

Michelle Cortis is coordinating the 2024 Return and Earn for our school.  This will happen every Wednesday (Sports Day).  This fundraiser was a huge success in 2022 so we hope to have the same result for 2024.

Student background characteristics data collection

This information needs to be collected and recorded by the 20th of March. Please return the Family details - National Goals for Schooling Data Collection sheets that were sent home to to our families who are missing details (ie the highlighted section/s only) from their original enrolment information.

We would also appreciate it if all families could send in (via email - quiadmin@arm.catholic.edu.au) their employers name/company name to help to make this an accurate collection for 2024.

Student background characteristics are collected for all students for the purposes of:

  • Reporting student background and school level information on My School
  • Determining Australian Government funding loadings
  • National reporting of the results of the National Assessment Program
  • Reporting student background data in the National Schools Statistics Collection.

Student Internet Agreements

Forms have gone home again to day with students who do not have a current Internet Agreement. Please ensure these are returned to school this week to enable us to complete our records for each student.

Attendance

Please remember to explain your child's absence within 7 days.  This is a legal requirement and already this year we have had to send paper notes out to parents as they are over the 7 day requirements.  It is so much easier if you access Compass on the day and fill in the absent note section.

Morning drop off and afternoon pick up reminders

  • please make the effort to park your car before dropping students off.  Dropping students off right on the school crossing  is dangerous for everyone.
  • the routine in the morning is to drop your child at the front gate. If you come in to the school grounds you must sign in on the kiosk in the front office and then sign out again when you leave the grounds.  This is a requirement in case of evacuation or lockdown.
  • if you need to meet with a staff member in regards to your child, please make an appointment via email (email addresses are in the contacts page of this newsletter). Staff need to have their full attention on your children when they are on duty.

Afternoon Travel Arrangements

Please notify the school by email before 2pm of your child's travel changes. In an emergency you can call the office after this time.

Activities levy

The activities levy of $70/student can be paid in total or through a payment plan in CompassPay.  If you sign up to the payment plan of two instalments of $35, one due on Monday, 8th April, and the other on Monday, 24th June 2024 you will have to make sure your credit card has not expired and that there are enough funds available to debit the charge on the day.

This levy will cover buses for swimming, athletics and cross country, pool entry, visiting performers/shows and a portion of the transport for a specialist music teacher. This does not include major excursions, Mothers/Fathers Day gifts, Year 6 Big Day Out, or Diocesan sport as these are user pay activities.   All families are expected to pay this levy.

SWAP Shop

We would love some more girls uniforms for our SWAP shop.  If you have any uniforms that you no longer need, please drop them in to the front office and we will add them to the cupboard.
