We share our gratitude to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Dear Families,

As we come to the end of a very busy but incredibly productive Term 3, I would like to congratulate our students on the wonderful effort, enthusiasm and commitment they have demonstrated throughout the term. A particular highlight has been the Year 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 Expositions, where students proudly shared their learning, research and discoveries with families and members of our wider school community. 

These events showcased not only the depth of learning taking place across our classrooms, but also the students’ developing confidence in communicating their ideas, answering questions and presenting their knowledge to an authentic audience. 

We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication our students have demonstrated.

Term 3 has also provided some wonderful opportunities for our community to come together, including our fantastic Father’s Day Stall and Father’s Day Bowling Evening. A huge thank you to our P&F and the many families and staff who contributed their time, energy and enthusiasm to make these events such a success. It has been wonderful to see our school community come together, celebrate our students and create special memories with families. As we finish another action-packed term, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for their continued support, enthusiasm and commitment to making Moorabbin Primary School such a wonderful place to learn and belong.

YEAR 5 EXPO

 TEDDY BEARS’ DAY – BUILDING CONNECTIONS THROUGH SEL

On Wednesday 16th, our students enjoyed a wonderful Teddy Bears’ Day as part of our Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program. Students were invited to bring along their favourite teddy bear and spend time engaging in a range of fun activities and games with their buddies. The day provided a wonderful opportunity for students to connect with one another, share their special teddies and participate in cooperative play in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm, kindness and encouragement shown throughout the day. Students supported one another, took turns, shared ideas and worked together, strengthening friendships and developing important social and emotional skills through play. There were plenty of smiles, laughter and wonderful interactions, and it was lovely to see our students building positive relationships across the school. A big thank you to our staff for creating such a warm and supportive experience for everyone!

WELL DONE TO BECKY FROM FW FOR HER FIDGET SALE FOR THE CAT SOCIETY

Thanks for supporting Becky with her 3d printer sale at school last week. She and her friends had a fabulous time and did a great job, although they were a “wee” bit exhausted afterwards, it was an absolutely sensational show of support and community engagement!

The family have made a donation online to the Cat Protection Society of Victoria for $426.50. WOW! what an incredible effort. Becky, we congratulate your passion and we look forward to seeing how you will continue to grow your enthusiasm for science and your love for animals. A huge thank you to all our families that supported Becky!

A MESSAGE FROM KINGSTON COUNCIL PLEASE READ AND SHARE

It is extremely disappointing to hear that, over the past couple of weeks, a number of parents have been involved in verbal altercations with one another on the roads and around the school. What is particularly concerning is that these incidents are occurring in full view of children, who are witnessing adults within our community speaking to one another in an aggressive and disrespectful manner. I have received a number of reports from parents who have approached me, called and emailed to raise their concerns when these incidents have occurred. Last week, we also received correspondence from Kingston Council’s Local Laws team regarding an incident involving verbal abuse, including behaviour directed towards Council staff.

THIS BEHAVIOUR NEEDS TO STOP. I ask every member of our community to take a moment to reflect on how they are speaking to and interacting with others, particularly in the presence of children. We all have a responsibility to model the respectful, calm and courteous behaviour that we expect from our students. Disagreements will occur, but verbal abuse, aggression, intimidation and disrespectful interactions are simply not acceptable within or around our school community. Please consider the example we are setting for our children and ensure that our interactions reflect the values of respect, responsibility and kindness that we work so hard to instil in them.

Good morning,

I am reaching out regarding some unfortunate conduct from parents towards parking enforcement officers. There has been abuse and threats that are concerning in nature for the officers conducting the role of foot to patrol.

Council receives many complaints from parents and community alike and as such, parking enforcement responds to provide a service delivery.

Could I please request for the term 4 that communications are sent to parents that Council will:

• Enforce and patrol around the school for illegal parking

• Any abuse, threats or unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated and will be reported to the Police.

Parents that want clarification or wish to discuss the rules around schools, Council is more than willing to engage and discuss.

As we head into the holidays, I hope our families enjoy a well-deserved opportunity to slow down, spend time together and recharge. To our students, thank you for another wonderful term, your enthusiasm, kindness and willingness to learn make our school such a special place. To our staff, thank you for your unwavering commitment, care and dedication to every child, and to our families, thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. 

We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another exciting term of learning and growth.
