Honoring the Spirit of the ANZACs
Preparing with Heart and Hands
Over the past week our students have been busy honoring the ANZAC tradition through several meaningful activities:
Handcrafted Poppies: Students have been creating vibrant red poppies, learning about how these flowers became a symbol of hope and remembrance on the battlefields of Flanders.
- Wreath Making: Working with care and precision, groups have assembled wreaths that were used to pay our respects during our school ANZAC Liturgy.
ANZAC Biscuit Baking: The nostalgic scent of golden syrup and oats filled the air as students tried their hand at baking the traditional ANZAC biscuit—a delicious way to connect with history.
Whole School Liturgy
A significant highlight of our preparations was our Whole School Liturgy. It was a powerful moment to have our students, teachers, and staff—gather in solemn reflection. Through prayer, song, and shared silence, we took the time to reflect on the values of courage, mateship, and self-sacrifice. The reverence shown by our students during the service was a testament to their respect for this important day.
Walking with Pride
The highlight of our commemorations was the Saturday March. We would like to extend a heartfelt "well done" and a massive thank you to all the students and staff members who gave up their weekend to represent our school.
Seeing our uniform in the parade was a moment of immense pride for our community. Your presence showed a deep level of respect for our veterans and ensured that the stories of the past continue to be honored by the generation of the future.
Lest We Forget
We are incredibly proud of the maturity and empathy our students have shown during these preparations. It is through these small acts of making, baking, and marching that we keep the ANZAC spirit alive.
To all who served, and all who continue to serve—we remember you.
