Years 5 and 6 Radial Names
We have been exploring the concept of radial symmetry through a personalised name design project. Using lightboxes, students reflected and repeated their names to create intricate, symmetrical patterns that radiate from a central point. This process encouraged careful planning and attention to detail, as even small changes could create very different visual effects.
Students with names written in other languages were encouraged to experiment by using different scripts. This led to some beautiful and unique designs, as the shapes and flow of different alphabets created striking variations in pattern and symmetry. It was a wonderful talking point and way to celebrate cultural diversity in the class.
To enhance their designs, students revisited the colour wheel and selected colour schemes to create different visual impacts. Some chose complementary colours for bold contrast, while others explored analogous colours for a more harmonious look.

Year 3 Graffiti Names
Students have wrapped up their graffiti name artworks, focusing on developing their skills in shading, blending, and creating depth.
Throughout the process, they experimented with colour to smoothly blend between tones and add dimension to their letters. By carefully applying shading and highlights, students were able to make their names appear more three-dimensional, helping them stand out from the background.
This project challenged students to try new techniques and push their artistic skills further. They are incredibly proud of their finished pieces and excited to share both their artwork and their learning with others.

Year 4 Geodes
Students have now completed their geode paintings, proudly mounting their artworks onto their chosen backgrounds. They thoughtfully added decorative elements to complement their designs, enhancing the overall presentation and making each piece feel complete and unique.
Throughout this term, students have continued to build on their watercolour techniques, experimenting with resists, colour blending, layering, and the use of salt to create textures. Students reflected on their artistic journey this week, considering how their techniques and understanding have improved over the term. This reflection has helped them recognise their progress and celebrate their achievements.

Art Club: Harmony Day
In Art Club, students came together to celebrate Harmony Day by creating colourful bracelets. This activity encouraged students to reflect on the meaning of Harmony Day, celebrating diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
