Year 12 Food Studies

Last week, our Year 12 food students got hands-on with Play-Doh to model the digestive system, turning a complex topic into an engaging learning experience. Using vibrant colours, they made their Play-Doh, sculpted key organs and crafted some memorable digestive systems.

 

Each step of the digestive process came to life as they intricately detailed how food is broken down both physically (mechanical digestion) and chemically (through enzymes and acids).

 

With this hands-on approach, students gained a deeper appreciation for how the body processes food, shaping their understanding of nutrition and biology on a deeper level.

 

What a fun lesson it was!
