 Term 1 Week 4 Year 2 Newsletter

 

Dear Year 2 parents & guardians,

 

Welcome to Week 4! It’s been a smooth start to the 2025 school year and we are loving getting to know our new class families. Thanks to the grown ups who came out to the Year 2 Info Night in Week 2 - much appreciated.

 

What we’ve been up to in Year 2:

  • Students are settling into their new rooms and classroom routines really well
  • Getting to know about each other through games and activities
  • Recapping on the ENPS C.A.R.E values and what these look and feel like
  • Discussing the ‘group plan’ and practising following this
  • Revisiting the Zones of Regulation
  • Revising our Stage 7 Little Learners phonemes (sounds - oral) and graphemes (letters that represent the sounds - written)
  • Looking at patterns and algebra in maths (number sequences; greater than, less than, equal to; numbers before and after; missing numbers in a sequence)
  • Discussing what family life looks like in our homes

 

Reminders:

  • Bundoora Farm excursion: please see Compass for details, permission and payment (NOTE: parents helpers will be needed for this. An email will be sent in coming weeks with information about this)
  • Hats: Term 1 is a hat term, so please check your child has their hat at school
  • Library bags: check your child’s Library day and that they have a library bag to borrow books
  • Art smocks: all children need an art smock for lessons
  • Student of the Week: this has commenced. If your child is SOW, your class teacher will contact you by the Tuesday of the week they will receive their certificate at assembly

Friday April 4th- Last Day of Term (2:30pm finish)
