TERM 4, Week 3

What a wonderful and busy start to the term it has been in Foundation! The students have settled back into their routines beautifully and are showing great enthusiasm for their learning.

In Maths, we have been revising our understanding of teen numbers and recognising that these numbers are made up of one ten and some ones. This week, we have moved on to exploring directions and positions, using words such as left, right, above, below, next to, near and under. The children have enjoyed using movement games and hands-on activities to practise these new skills.

In Phonological Awareness, we are learning about digraphs – when two letters work together to make one sound. The digraphs we have been focusing on include ll, ss, zz, ff, sh, ck, and th. The students have enjoyed spotting these in words during reading and writing time.

Our new Investigation areas have been a huge hit! The children have loved exploring our school, pizza parlour, grocery store, maths corner, collage area, and bead-making table. These spaces have encouraged lots of creativity, teamwork and problem-solving.

It’s been a fantastic start to the term, and we look forward to seeing all the wonderful

learning and growth that continues in the coming weeks!
